What is Peer Review…?
Peer review is an evaluation process involving qualified individuals within the relevant field. Peer review methods are employed to maintain standards, improve performance and provide credibility. In academic field, peer review is often used to determine an academic paper’s suitability for publication. In case of blind peer review, the identity of the authors would not be revealed to reviewer/referee till the paper is published in The Splendid Journals. Peer review exists to ensure that journals publish good research work. This benefits the entire scientific and research community. Sometimes researchers find the peer review process intimidating because it can lead to the rejection of their manuscript but the revisions suggested and improvements described are a part of the publication process and actually help to raise the quality of your research manuscript.
Why Peer Review…?
It is difficult for the authors and the researchers, whether individually or in a team, to spot every mistake or flaw in a complicated piece of work. This is not necessarily a reflection on those concerned, but because with a new and perhaps with eclectic subject, an opportunity for improvement may be more obvious to someone with special expertise or who simply looks at it with a fresh eye through different angle. Reviewing of the research of others can identify the possible weaknesses / flaw, thus quality would be improved.
Peer review is a positive process.
Peer review is an integral part of the scholarly Journal publishing that confirms the validity of the research work. Peer reviewers are experts who volunteer their time to help improve the journal manuscripts they review-they offer authors free advice. Through the peer review process, manuscripts become:
- More useful: Peer reviewers consider the importance of your paper to others in your field.
- More robust: Peer reviewers may point out gaps in your paper that require more explanation or additional experiments.
- Easier to read: If parts of your paper are difficult to understand, reviewers can tell you so that you can fix them.
Also, in addition to offering authors advice, another important purpose of peer review is to make sure that the manuscripts that publishes in The Splendid Journals are of high quality. If any journal publishes too many low-quality manuscripts, its reputation and number of readers will decline.
